Summer Prints

I miss being tan.

Got my prints today from a disposable camera I took along with me all summer, although most of the pictures were shot during the road trip to Scottsdale and Sedona, AZ. Also are some snapshots from FYF Fest, and a random night out at a bar with some friends.

I think that nowadays, we take for granted how instantly we can review and edit our pictures through digital gadgets! I have missed the anticipation of getting film processed and developed. I also loved being pleasantly surprised with how the pictures turned out - I am amused at how in some shots, my finger blocked a corner of the flash, and in some, the photographer blocked a little bit of the lens itself. My favorite out of all these is the last shot of me and my friends at the bar - I think the stranger might have been too drunk to snap us as the focal point of the photo. Somehow, I find the imperfections exponentially more charming than the filters we use, and the edits we make via apps and software.

Now, my next mission is to find my parents' old film camera that they have had since I was born. I definitely want to stock back up on disposables and sorts. I can't wait to start snapping it back, old school.

What's the first thing you would save when there's a fire burning down your house?
Photographs, no doubt.
